MAY EMPTIES ♡ Products I've Used Up
12:00 PMHey beauty lovers!
I finally used up enough products to share a substantial empties post! I have a few skin care and make-up empties to share with you, as well as my thoughts about each product. Here are all the products I've used up:
1. Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray
My holy grail setting spray. I've been using this stuff for years and it works great at keeping my make-up in place and controlling my oils! I've already repurchased brand new full- and travel-sized bottles and will continue to repurchase.
2. Maybelline FIT me Matte + Poreless Powder
I've repurchased this powder over and over and I love keeping it in my purse because it's so convenient. There's a compartment for a make-up sponge as well as a mirror incorporated into the packaging. The powder itself isn't the absolute best drugstore powder I've ever used but it does keep my oils under control for a good amount of time. This is my favourite powder for on the go so I'll be repurchasing in the future.
3. Maybelline FIT me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation
This is at the top of my list of favourite drugstore foundations. The coverage is absolutely amazing and is great at keeping my oils at bay. The only downside to this foundation is that it doesn't have a pump, so it can get a little messy if you're not careful. Other than that, I absolutely love the formula of this foundation and will definitely be repurchasing.4. Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer
This is a really good primer if you have large pores and oily skin. This primer did a great job (again) at controlling oil and minimizing the appearance of pores. One thing to note about this primer is that it does have that silky, silicone feeling to it, so if you don't like those types of primers, I'd stay away from this one. Although it did a decent job keeping my problem skin at bay, I have since found a much better primer for controlling my severely oily complexion. If I were to repurchase this, it would be solely for the purpose of filling in my pores.5. The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
This was a great summer foundation because it's super lightweight but offers medium, buildable coverage. I won't, however, be repurchasing this product for a few reasons. Again, I have found a summer foundation that I like much better and the scent of the Tea Tree BB Cream is not my cup of tea. It's very strongly scented of tea tree, which isn't my favourite smell in the world, and is quite nauseating for me, personally.
6. The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer
I've repurchased this product about two times and really loved it for concealing around my brows because it's a drier formula than most other concealers. I also loved this for spot concealing whenever I broke out because of the tea tree incorporated into the product. Tea tree is really good for treating blemishes and I found that after using this concealer on my breakouts, they would go down significantly by the time I removed my make-up at the end of the day. I'm undecided on whether or not I'll purchase this again because it does also have the tea tree scent that I can't stand, but because it works so well, I may have to pick it up again.
7. The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It
This is a great, inexpensive option if you're on the market for a new primer! While it doesn't keep me matte the longest, it does do the job for a good amount of time. It also has a slight, silicone feel to it, but not as much as the Tarte primer as stated before. I have a backup of this primer already and I'm trying to use it up, but, again, I won't be repurchasing because I found a better primer for my skin.
8. First Aid Beauty Oil-Free Mattifying Gel
This was my holy grail during the Winter when my normally oily skin was super dry and flaky. It did an amazing job at moisturizing my dehydrated areas but also did a great job at preventing the oil that surfaced in my t-zone. This was just a sample from Sephora but I'll definitely be purchasing the full-sized product when Winter rolls around again.
9. The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream
I suffer from eczema that flares up whenever the weather changes. It usually appears around my undereyes and eyelids and is a pain to deal with. I love this eye cream for treating my eczema. It's a great temporary fix for the dryness and flakiness around my eyes. It does burn (a lot) if you have eczema or severely dry skin around your eyes, so if your pain tolerance is low, I would stay away from this product as it does burn enough to make you cry. My eczema has been pretty good as it hasn't flared up in several months, but I will definitely repurchase this if it does begin to irritate my skin again.
What products have you used up lately? How did they work for you? Let me know in the comments!
